Sedimentation Tank Radar Level Measurement

Application Problem: A wastewater treatment plant required reliable level measurement in a sedimentation tank with surface foam and ice in the winter months.

Application History: Existing radar sensors at the plant were influenced by surface foam and ice, providing unstable level measurements. The plant operator required an alternative solution to replace the unreliable radars.

Solution: ABM’s explosion-proof, non-contact radar level sensors were selected for the project due to their proven ability to measure through foam and ice without fail. The smart radars are self-adjusting and eliminate foam/ice influence to measure the top of the liquid reliably. All existing radars were replaced with ABM’s radar sensors.
