Reliable Radar Level Measurement in Cement Steel Silo

Application Problem: A cement customer required reliable level sensors to monitor the level of white cement in several steel silos.

Application History: Existing capacitive rope type probes were defective. The customer was seeking alternative solutions to provide functional level measurement in their tanks and ensure filters would not get clogged from overfilling.

Solution: ABM’s non-contact radar level sensor with horn antenna (ABM300-100R2C4ALHR5) was selected for the project. The radar sensor only required a few parameters to be configured for set-up. ABM’s radar sensors are self-adjusting, automatically adapting to environment and material measured. The radar provides reliable level measurement, even during filling conditions.
