Non-contact Level Measurement for Rock Crushers

Application Problem: A quarry required a robust and reliable level sensor to monitor the level in a rock crusher to prevent overfilling and ensure continuous throughput.

Application History: The application was challenging as there is heavy dust which made it difficult for the existing radar sensor with a lens to measure level reliably. The sensors lens required cleaning several times a day.

Solution: ABM’s non-contact radar level sensor with rod antenna and horn was selected for the application. The sensor has a unique technology that makes it insensitive to any dust build-up on the radar antenna. The quarry now has reliable maintenance free level monitoring of their rock crusher.
